Hello 2023! ✨

The most common new years resolution I hear is new year, new you. After the last few years of ups and downs I think this year for me is going to be how can I feel my best.

It's common to feel sluggish in the new year, and it's important to remember that it's okay to take it slow and steady. To help get your energy levels up, try to stick to a regular sleep schedule, eat a healthy and balanced diet, and move your body in ways that make you feel energised. Taking breaks throughout the day can also be helpful in recharging your energy.

This year we have added Naturopathy to our treatments. Why?

Seeing a naturopath can be beneficial for many reasons. Naturopathy focuses on treating the underlying cause of a health issue, rather than simply managing the symptoms. Naturopaths may use a combination of therapies, such as nutrition, herbal medicine, homeopathy, and lifestyle advice, to help restore balance and improve overall health. Additionally, naturopaths often take a holistic approach to health, considering the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of a person's wellbeing. Naturopaths can help with a range of health issues, from digestive issues and hormonal imbalances to immune system disorders and chronic illnesses. Ultimately, naturopathy can be a great way to improve your overall health and wellbeing.

Naturopath and skin concerns

Naturopathy is a great way to help nourish your skin from the inside out. There are many natural treatments that could be beneficial for your skin, such as dietary and lifestyle changes, herbal medicine, and supplements. Before taking any advice, I would recommend consulting a qualified naturopath who can assess your individual needs and create a personalised plan to help you achieve your skin goals.

The skin and gut axis is a connection between the two systems that is based on the bidirectional flow of information. This connection is important for maintaining the normal functioning of each system and the overall health of the body. The skin and gut axis is regulated by the immune system and hormones, which play a role in controlling skin health, digestion, and metabolism. By understanding the mechanisms of this connection, researchers are able to better understand the relationship between skin and gut health and develop treatments that can improve overall health.

Gut health can have a significant impact on the health of your skin. The digestive system is connected to the immune system, and a healthy gut can lead to healthier skin because it helps with the absorption of nutrients which can help keep skin nourished, hydrated, and protected. Additionally, the gut contains beneficial bacteria which helps to support the immune system, which can help reduce inflammation and skin sensitivities. Improving your gut health can help to reduce the severity of skin issues such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Eating a balanced diet with plenty of fiber and fermented foods can help to keep your gut in good condition and improve skin health.

Maintaining good gut health is essential for keeping your energy levels and skin looking healthy. Eating a balanced diet that is low in processed foods and high in fiber, probiotic-rich foods, and healthy fats can help support gut health. Additionally, getting regular physical activity, drinking plenty of water, and managing stress levels can all help keep your gut and skin in good condition. If you're looking for specific foods to help support gut health, foods like yogurt, kimchi, kefir, miso, sauerkraut, and pickles are all excellent choices.
